Popular Beach Destinations Along the East Coast of America

Dedicated student Chelsie Zents is currently studying at Pennsylvania State University. Starting her college career as a marketing major she is now majoring in accounting and minoring in MIS. Outside of her responsibilities as a student, Chelsie Zents enjoys visiting new places on the United States’ East Coast and she loves spending time at the beach.

The East Coast of the United States has a number of popular beaches that are great for families and individuals. Following are just a few of the top beaches along the East Coast.

Nantucket, Massachusetts: a former whaling community, Nantucket seems to transport visitors back in time to a quaint community before a blue ocean backdrop. Calm waters make the area a great spot for traveling families or just people who are looking to relax by the sea.

Duck, North Carolina: located in the northern part of the state’s Outer Banks, Duck is home to a number of rental homes and small hotels. The ocean gives a calming sound to the area and visitors can spend time on the area’s docks or the sand dunes.

East Hampton, New York: home to Main Beach, a white sand beach that is very popular, East Hampton showcases great waves and picturesque views. The area is a favored destination throughout the year, but is typically less crowded during colder months.

Cape May, New Jersey: often recognized as the crown jewel of the area, Cape May’s small town center and fantastic beaches draw in many tourists every year. Visitors can often spot dolphins jumping in the ocean’s waves and simply enjoy the environment.

Miami Heat Sponsors Community Aid Projects

Now a junior at Pennsylvania State University, Chelsie Zents has participated in numerous charity initiatives in her hometown of Brookville, Pennsylvania. Chelsie Zents is also an NBA fan who roots for the Miami Heat.

The Heat operates several community involvement activities, such as the Heat Academy. The academy provides after-school instruction for some 300 students in three elementary schools. This includes students who come from economically challenged families and may face problems involving their studies. Some children are at risk of juvenile delinquency.

These third- to fifth-graders are educated in reading, math, writing, and science in order to prepare them for the Florida Standards Achievement test and national academic competitions.

The academy is open weekdays for most of the school year, from 3:30 to 5:30 pm. Funding the program in addition to the Heat are C1 Bank, the Carnival Foundation, and Florida Blue. Funds raised cover teachers’ pay, snacks, materials, and activities. The program costs families nothing, but students must attend regularly and follow a code of conduct.
